Champions Zoomin For Spuds and Tarzanito and Grade 1 winner He Looks Hot are among the 19 aged sprinters entered in Sunday's 400-yard Vessels Maturity (G1) trials at Los Alamitos.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the July 7 final. The winner will earn a provisional berth in this year's 440-yard, $600,000 Champion of Champions (G1).

A homebred trained by Monty Arrossa for owner Jim Walker, Zoomin For Spuds won the February 10, 400-yard Brad McKinzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1). The 6-year-old Zoomin For Bux gelding drew post 2 and will be ridden by Jesus Rios Ayala in the first of three heats.

Tarzanito is trained by Yanet Rodriguez for owner A1A Racing LLC. A 5-year-old son of the Favorite Trick (TB) stallion Favorite Cartel, Tarzanito is winless in three outs this season, but last season he banked $119,535 from eight races and won the Grade 1, 400-yard Go Man Go Handicap, and he was voted champion aged stallion.

Tarzanito drew post 4 and will be ridden by Eddie S. Garcia in the second trial.

Ed Allred's He Looks Hot is the 9-5 morning-line favorite in the third heat. A homebred  7-year-old Walk Thru Fire gelding trained by Scott Willoughby, He Looks Hot has banked $34,653 from three outs this season, and his two wins include the March 29 Moonist Handicap.

He Looks Hot won last year's 440-yard Robert L. Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship. Vinnie Bednar will ride the gelding from post 3.
